Synopsis
When SABAKU’s best friend Buffalo passes away, he needs to find himself a new friend. He tries connecting with different species, but soon finds out that isn't as easy as it seems. SABAKU is in for a bumpy ride, but he won't rest until he succeeds.
Director's BIO
Marlies van der Wel (born 3-10-1984 in Soest, The Netherlands) is a Dutch animator and illustrator, working from her studio based in Amsterdam. Started in 2007, working on both commercial as personal projects. Her latest film Jonas and the Sea premiered in 2015 and won several big awards under which best animated short film at TIFF Kids Festival and the jury award at Holland Animation Film Festival.
